What are three things you learned about color theory and web design yesterday? Go in to detail.

I learned a lot of interesting things yesterday! One, about the different color schemes on the color wheel like triad, tetrad, and analogus. Two, I learned about red-green color blindness and how it is the most common case of color blindness. Lastly, I learned how to pair colors when choosing from the color wheel.

What effect can a color scheme have on a website? How can it make a website better? How can it make a website worse? Explain why color is important.

It is very important to have a color scheme on a website because it will draw the viewer in. If you have a really poor color scheme choice, the viewer will become uninterested in your website. It can make the website better because it makes it more interesting to look at, or it can make it worse by making the it unattractive. Color is so important to make your website fun and interesting.

What did you learn about file types as you created and designed your travel website? What are some other kinds of file types you know of? What do these different files do? Explain.

I learned that you must save different file types because they save as different things. An example is the .psd and .png files: .psd is a file that can be edited and .png is a static image. Some other file types I know of are .jpg, .psd, .png, and .html. These files save your information in different ways so it can fit the software you are using.

Think about how a user (me or anyone else using your site) might function and interact with your site. What are some important functional features to make your website easy to work with? How can you make it easier for the user and not frustrating? Explain why this is so important.

My site is very easy to work with because it's organized. An important feature is my navigation bar because it organizes my content and is easy to access for the viewer. You can make it easier for the user by using appropriate font color and size, organizing content into a navigation bar, and making sure you link everything up correctly. All of this is very important because if the reader can't interact with your site, then the site is useless.

Tell me about your Sweetheart weekend. If you didn't go to Sweetheart, what did you do? I want details!

This weekend I didn't go to sweetheart, but I did hang out with my friend Amber. On Saturday I had just gotten my new pointe shoes, so that night she came over to hang out while I broke them in. We made huge sundaes with oreos, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and strawberries. Then, we went over to Amber's house, watched Ghost Whisperer, and went to sleep. I wasn't very exciting, but I was glad I wasn't the only one who didn't go to sweetheart.
